National Accounts

The tables below are supposed to present the newest published data on national accounts at any time. The National Economic Institute has published a methodological description of Icelandic National Accounts in January 1996 in a booklet named: Compiling Icelandic National Accounts, documentation of methods applied. These methods have now been revised to bring them into conformity with the European System of Accounts, ESA 95. The revision was introduced in August 2000 and the main results presented by a Press Release. The revision extends back to 1990 but earlier time series, as presented here, are compiled according to the United Nations system of Accounts, SNA 68.
